Sitaare
Zameen Par is an official remake of the Spanish movie Champions. Where the
story revolved around a talented but arrogant Gulshan (Amir Khan), who had an
accident, but a twist in the tale comes when he gets a community punishment to coach
a Basketball team of intellectually disabled individuals for three months. Now,
what happens in this journey? This is all the movie is about.
Review
Look, the story
is simple. And also connects the audience, but not as much that connected Taare
Zameen Par, as the Sitaare Zameen Par follows an opposite approach to Taare Zameen
Par, like the tagline of the movie “ Saabka Apna Apna Normal.” This tagline has been portrayed very
beautifully in the movie, like in Gulshan’s mind, he is normal and wants So
this thought of the movie is good and it also connects with the others and
somewhere the mentally or physically handicapped people may find it weird to
the common people but they are normal in their thinking. For example, a scene
in the movie in which Gulshan is looking at the kids in weird ways, that scene
looks very natural, especially the way these characters are, and Gulshan
himself learns a lot while teaching these kids; all this has been presented
very well by blending it with drama and comedy.
A Slow but Interesting Story
The story is
interesting but it takes some time to get on track, it is not that the movie is
boring, the way Gulshan's character grabs the attention, some of his dialogues
are funny and a constant smile remains on his face and many of these have been
shown very well in the movie, and the problems that Gulshan faces in his life,
his personal and professional life conflicts are interesting and add a twist to
the movie. There is more novelty factor in the story, and there is a basketball
tournament as well as a separate track on the relationship between Gulshan and
Sunita (Genelia D'Souza), but everything is kept limited.
Acting Performances
Amir Khan is
a phenomenal actor. The way he portrayed his role is exceptional. The way he carried out his role is phenomenal and
truly shines in the role of a Basketball coach. You will get to see a different
type of Aamir Khan who will make you laugh, cry, and in between, the audience
will get angry at him, but it is fun watching him. And all the children enjoyed
watching him too. And the innocence of all the children will win your heart.
Genelia D'Souza's work is less, but due to her, there are some light moments in
the film, and Gurpal Singh, Naman Mishra and Dolly Alhuwalia have given good
support and add a different flavour to the film.
Direction
and Other Aspects
R.S.
Prasanna's direction is decent. The story was good, and the way it was narrated
was also good, but the screenplay was a bit stretched. Locations, B.G.M., are
also fine. The entire film has been shot in India. Delhi, Chandigarh are the
perfect locations for the film as the film is about children. The film is quite
colourful. The director tried to keep the movie as simple as possible/
Conclusion
In
Conclusion, Sitaare Zaamen Par is a good fun movie to watch movie but at the
same time movie may not appeal to every section of the audience as the concept of
the movie may appeal more to classes and multiplex audiences, but at the same
the movie fails to match the standards of Taare Zameen Par
