  This is the story of Shanmugam (Mohanlal), who was once a stuntman in South Indian films but now lives a simple life as a taxi driver with his family. But the interesting twist in the story comes when some people sit in the taxi, including a dead body. This film is all about what happens after that.

 The story is interesting. As the film starts and all sorts of people get into Shanmugam's taxi, curiosity arises in the mind as to what is going on. But on the contrary, it takes a lot of time to execute all this. But this does not mean that the film is boring. The story is interesting. There is a lot of thrill and tension in the movie, and the way the story has been presented is also good. A good thriller is made only when the story connects with the audience, and at the same time, the story also plays a kind of guessing game with the mind of the audience. As a viewer, you feel for that taxi driver. How this poor taxi driver got trapped in all this without any reason, but here another question arises that is,  Shanmugam as helpless as he seems, and there are many questions which this film asks, for which the viewers will try to find answers time and again.

 

Similarity With Drishayam

Those who have seen Drishyam will remember its template very well. There is a man who has a family. There are children. The viewer will think that it is okay, but what next? Then slowly things start to unfold, and the fun begins.  Like it happens in Drishayam, those who have seen a lot in this genre might guess the suspense, but for those who have just started watching this genre, this movie is a boon.

Interesting Story Combined with Good Presentation and Thriller

A good story is of no use if it is not presented well, and here, whether it is a story or a presentation, the director has done well in both departments. Director Tharun Moorthy has done a great job in every department. He has kept the story and characters of the film very rooted and simple. Along with this, the production value of the film is. Art designing, cinematography. B.G.M. is also as it should be in such a thriller. So the technical aspects of the film are good. The locations are also almost like those of Drishyam.

Another Intense Performance by Mohanlal

There is no need to explain how good an actor he is. Once again, he delivered a powerful performance in his role. The way he portrayed his emotions is phenomenal; he leaves his mark in every scene. Additionally, his expressions add another layer to his character. Shobana as Mohanlal’s wife also delivers a sincere performance. Her performance will remind Shereya Saran’s role in Drishyam. Apart from these two, actors in other small roles, like the policeman, have done their work very well. Overall, everyone has done a good job of acting.

In Conclusion, Thundrum is an Intense movie with an engaging storyline, with a powerful presentation of Mohanlal, which lifts the movie with his performance, and those who love to watch thrillers and fans of movies like the Drishyam franchise.
