Karma Review - Netflix

Director – Lee II hyung

Episodes – 6

Where To Watch – Netflix

Karma is a mystery thriller show that tells the story of 6 people whose lives are not going well, one of whom has lost his father. The other 5 people are also facing some problems. Due to an accident, these 6 people become connected in a way, and what they face is shown in this show.

 Review

The story is interesting, the way in the first scene Lee Jin Hoon gets a call that his father had an accident, from there we get a little idea about what is going to happen next in the series, despite which we get connected with the series and the series is more dependent on its characters than the story, then the story seems interesting to watch.

The suspense of the series is good, and it works somewhere, but only for those who do not watch many Korean or crime shows. If they watch crime thrillers that are on a completely pro level, they may find the suspense of this series dull, and they may even guess the suspense.

Wherever there is mystery and suspense, there is always a curiosity about what will happen next, but the element of thrill is very inconsistent; at some places, it is very strong, and at some places, it is very weak but there is so much masala that you feel like leaving the show midway.

Somewhere, you will also feel that the story would have taken a lot of time to come to its real point. Although 6 episodes are not much, the director could have shown the angle and depth of greed because the story was good, but the director missed a bit.

The aspect of greed in this show connects very well with the viewers, and this also makes the show more alive. If a show connects with the viewers, then half of its success is achieved by that.

Technical Aspects

Technically, the series was also good. The production value is very good. It is enjoyable to watch every scene. The series will not make you feel cheap anywhere. The series also lives up to all these aspects. The BGM is also good.

Action

The action is also well-choreographed, supporting the tone of the series and adding an extra layer of thrill, but such action can't be called stylish. The shadow-drenched alleys and stark interiors make you feel trapped in the same fated spiral as the characters.  There’s a lingering dread to every scene, as if karma itself is watching—and waiting, which makes it a thrilling watch.

 Actor's Performances

In terms of Actors' performances. Lee Hee Jun did a commendable performance in his role. The way his character has been written and the way that character is portrayed are both praiseworthy, and the rest of the people in the series have done their jobs well.

Conclusion

In summary, Karma is a decent show that will definitely attract lovers of K-dramas, but the problem is that if we look at K-dramas in recent times, it might look pale in front of them. All in all, a decent show with decent acting.
