Plot Overview
The story is about a big business tycoon, Rajan Olakh
(Jaideep Ahlawat), who needs a diamond. To steal this diamond, Rajan hires a
thief, Rehan Roy (Saif Ali Khan). Whether Rehan can steal the diamond or not is the
basis of this film.
Review
The story is predictable, but still, the film is not boring.
The film has thrill, tension, drama, and a little action, which adds
entertainment value to this simple story, and the way the story is presented on
screen is also good. Without wasting any time, the film comes straight to its
real point, and due to this, the film can connect us with it.
Since this is a heist-based film, it is very important to
show the heist in such a story in an impactful way, which is the case here. And
the way this entire heist has been shot is also excellent. Since a combination
of theft and flight has been presented in the film, some people will also
remember Netflix's Chor Machaye Shor, but still, I enjoyed the film.
Screenplay Lacks Thrill
The screenplay is also good because the movie is less than 2
hours long, so there is no chance of getting bored. If there was thrill and
tension in such a story, it would have been even better, and its thrill is good
if it is not compared to movies like Race. The thrill will feel like you have
seen something.
The production value is also fine but do not have too many
expectations, the film is just fine to watch and the character development is
also average and there should have been a high moment in the movie but
fortunately there is none, on the contrary you will feel that this is a
combination of Prince and Dhoom franchise. BGM is also very weak.
Another Disappointing Direction By Kuki Gulati
This movie has been made by Kuki Gulati, he is the same
director who made Prince with Vivek Oberoi. Those who have seen Prince know
what kind of director he is. His work was neither good in Prince nor good in
Jewel Thief. Now there is a problem with this movie because the concept of
thief and theft has been shown in this movie and the audience has seen this
concept many times and in great movies.
Powerful Performance By Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat
If we talk about acting, the film has two excellent actors
like Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat and it is the acting performance of both
of them that saves the film to some extent and the rest of the actors, their
work in small roles is also fine, no one has done any memorable work or the
film is not like this The director hasn't given much attention to any other
character.
Conclusion
To summarize. Jewel Thief is an average movie. Saif Ali Khan
and Jaideep Ahlawat's acting is okay, but the audience has seen much better
work from these two actors. Technically, the movie is okay, but nothing much
can be expected from it.
