Plot Overview
I Hostage is a hostage drama movie where some people are
held hostage by a terrorist at an Apple store. What is the motive of this
terrorist behind this, and what does this terrorist want, and what happens to
those people in the end?
Review
Hostage drama is not a new thing. If we look at the history
of Indian and world cinema, there are many hostage dramas. This is also similar
to how a person keeps some people hostage in an Apple store. The only
difference is that in other content, the place of hostage is sometimes a house
or a bank, and here, there is an Apple store. There is a typical motive behind
making them hostage, and all this is very guessable.
The first requirement of a hostage drama is that something
or the other should keep happening, which happens here to some extent, but it
was not that impactful. Showing a hostage situation should be full of thrill
and tension, but when you finish this film, you will feel that this film could
have been better.
Acting Performances
If we talk about acting, the film has very experienced
actors like Marcel Hensema, Loes Haverkort, Luis Talpe, Matteo van der Grjin, and
Jasmine Sander, all of whom have played their roles well.

Average Screenplay - Lacks 2Ts, Thrill and Tension
The basis of a hostage situation rests on two things: what
will the hostage do, and what will the person who made her hostage do? But in
this case, both the characters are very weak and do not leave their impact
anywhere. Here I would like to criticize the writers who wrote the screenplay
in such a poor way, and if I talk about other departments, they are also okay,
but not very good. The production values are good. The entire film is shot at
beautiful locations in Amsterdam and the Netherlands. The film is very nice to
watch and is technically well-made too.
In the roles of the hostess and the store employees,
everyone's work is fine in their place and the way everyone has expressed the
thrill and tension is good and it also creates a slight atmosphere of thrill
but those are very small moments but we did not get the "edge of the
seat" experience which we had in Money Heist
Direction.
Direction is good but not great. The director has added a
basic level of thrill to the hostage situation, which those who are exploring
this genre for the first time will like, but for the completely pro-level
audience, it might not work for them.
Acting Performance
If we talk about acting, Marcel Hensema, Loes Haverkort, Luis Talpe, and all the actors have done a good job in the role of hostages. Apart from this, the work of all the hostages is also excellent. However, it does not seem that the director has tried to develop those characters too much
Conclusion.
In summary, those who have seen a lot in this genre, who
have seen series like Money Heist, can easily skip this movie, but if you want
to watch a movie on a tough hostage situation and know what happens in a
hostage situation, then you can give this movie a try.
