Review
The Movie belongs to the genre of road crime thriller drama,
which is the biggest minus point of the movie. In such movies, the main
attractive point of these genres is the chain of incidents that happen on the road,
which could be the biggest positive for the storyline. Still, instead of this,
the movie entirely focused on the relationship between Arjun and Kaya, which makes
the screenplay dull and slow, and the story of the movie is very thin and only
depends on how Arjun will find Kaya, except that the story doesn’t have any
subplots to attract the audience.
Weak Story and Screenplay
On Paper, the story and screenplay may look thrilling. The
way this story is converted into a screenplay is very dull. For example, when a
screenplay is entirely dependent on a road journey, the chain of incidents
should be regular and consistent, but in the case of Vidaamuyarchi, firstly,
there are very few action sequences, and whatever is there is not as impactful as
it should have been not only this the movie also lacks a strong and impactful
villain in front of Ajith Kumar and the other loopholes of the movie the way
the plot is treated it reminding of Road released in 2002 having Vivek Oberoi, Antera Mali and Manoj
Bachpayee in the lead.
Average Editing
Here, editors should also be criticized for easily keeping
this movie 2 Hours and 30 Minutes too long for a story like this. The movie
could easily trim 25 to 30 Minutes. Coming to direction Magizh Thurmani badly
failed to convert an exciting idea into an exciting watch, looses the grip on
screenplay many times. A road drama movie like this is incomplete without
thrill, tension, and excitement. Coming to technical aspects, such as Production
value, the Background score is decent, but don’t expect something extraordinary.
