Plot Overview
This series runs on two tracks; the first one is about a group of women who are running a drug racket in the guise of a tiffin service and how they expand their business, and the other is about a pharma company that is selling fake medicines. This pharma company is in the drug business.
Review
The premise of the show is interesting and fresh. The plot might sound like a thin line. That a group of women is supplying drugs in the guise of tiffin service, but their treatment and execution lifted the show to a level up. The way the show presented the blend of drugs and the tiffin service is interesting, engaging, and filled with surprising elements, such as hiding drugs in a lunchbox and delivering them in different parts of India without coming under the police radar while they have gone through threads of drugs mafia add a layer of thrill and tension in the screenplay.
Engaging Screenplay
The other beauty of the screenplay is its multidimensional aspects. Like starting a Dabba service to converting it to a drug racket or, on the other side, a drug trial of a pharma. And a simmontenously Police investigation is also going on company both these traks are different creates a curiosity of how these tracks will merged manage to give a convincing ending to the show are shown in a balanced way on a flipside the show lacks a suspence element and other minus point of the show two tracks creates a bit confusing for the viewer but answered all the unanswered questions by the climax.
Sincere Direction
Writers also deserve full for giving such an engaging story and screenplay, combined with a standout direction by Hitesh Bhatia, presented an exceptional show with a powerful storyline form showcasing small details of the drug business, making Dabba Cartel an exciting watch. Hitesh Bhatia also deserves a full mark in Presentation On a vise, as the show is completely Mumbai-based, which may remind one of the movies Taxi No 9211 and Mumbai Meri Jaan.
Actor's Performance
If dissecting an Actor's Performance. The series is led by Shabana Azmi in the role of a gang leader. She did a terrific job the way she did. The seriousness on her face showed her versatility as an actor. She carried the series on her shoulder, and an evenly sincere performance by Shalini Pandey, Jyotika, and Gajraj Rao, but I found Gajraj Rao a bit repetitive, and the rest of the cast was decent. In this series, there is a character of a maid played by Sai Tanhankar, probably a character with a touch of humor in the show.
Technical Aspects
Technically, Dabba Cartel is a well-made show entirely set in a Maharatra background. The dialogues are well written with a needed Marathi touch in them, adding a layer of authenticity with an intense background supporting the theme of the show. Here, the Cameraman who shot Mumbai in such a beautiful manner on a vice versa some found show a lengthy but it is an intense storyline supported by impeccable performance by each and every member of the cast.
Conclusion
To summarize. Dabba Cartel is an exceptional show with a strong storyline and intense performances by actors. In Fact. I will include Dabba Cartel as one of the Indian shows on Netflix.
